A: A firearm shipping box meets the requirements of the law, so long as it is fastened shut. (Tied or taped, for example.)

Q: What is a case?

A: Illinois defines a case as a container specifically designed for the purpose of housing a gun which completely encloses the firearm, with no portion of the gun being exposed, and is zipped, snapped, buckled, tied or otherwise fastened.
